Pretty Alphabet

~A..B..C..D~ another alphabet painting for little Nadia. Her Mom hand picked each word she wanted for her daughter so it is even more special! Nadia has butterfly bedding and pink walls in her classy little room so this painting will add to the decor and hang right over her bed. Hope you like it Nadia!

North Carolina Coastline

This is a custom piece (22×28) for  little Nash Carter. When his big sister Kaia was born I did a custom piece for her too. Kaia’s was all about Hawaii because of her name. I think mom and dad wanted the North Carolina coastline because it was somewhere special they had spent as a family. Mom sent me a few pictures as reference and this is what came out. I think it will go down as one of my favourites. The subtle colours make it a “calmer” piece and one that can grow with him.

Pinkalicious

Ta da! A custom stool for little Avery who loves all things pink and purple. You probably can’t see them on this pic but there are touches of sparkles around too. On her dress, around the wand, on the crown etc… This small addition of something shiny usually gets a squeal of delight from little girls.  To this day I enjoy things pretty and sparkly. I guess us girls never grow out of that : )

Growing Up!

I don’t have a ton of growth charts on my site but for some reason this summer has brought on a big demand! My growth charts are made of wood and come with hardware so they arrive ready-to-hang. You hang the chart 2 feet off the floor and start making memories! You can write on them with a sharpie and have them personalized with your child’s name and/or birth info. I recently got asked to do a verse/poem on one as well. Let me know your ideas and we can work together on a design that is unique to your little one.

The Green Forest

Here’s a painting – quite a big one (30 x 36) for a little boy who loves nature. The family lives in P0rt Perry, Ontario so I thought it was great to have something that would also be representative of the picturesque scenery around him. The painting was also meant to be a “Seek and Find” painting so he could see how many animals he could find – “Interactive “Decor I call it. There are over 20 different animals – can you find them all?

Seasons of Art

Well, it feels good to be painting things that go with the season we’re in. This latest stool design was a custom request from a customer that wanted to give a gift that went with the baby’s “bumblebee” themed nursery. The date and weight of the baby was also put on the sides of the stool at the customer’s request.

The puppy is a request from a little girl named Meredith. I hope she likes it! This was a collage piece that turned out great – I think I’ll do more of them…

Baby Boy Nursery

Here is a series of paintings I did for a baby boy who needed a little something to spruce up his nursery. At first mom wanted all cars then she changed to something more representative of the land, sea and sky. A car, helicopter and a boat fit just right.

Noah’s Ark

The Noah’s Ark theme for children is still going strong and I think it will continue to be popular. If you think about it, the story is full of things children find captivating. There’s the building of a big boat. Then, there are animals (a pair of every kind!) Then, a massive rainfall that covers even the tallest mountain. And finally, a rainbow – the symbol of hope and a new beginning. Come to think of it – I enjoy it too. It is one of my most requested themes for wall art and stools. This pair was made for 2 little ones who are about to be baptized. It’s nice to see the story of Noah getting passed on yet again.

Liana’s Owl

Here is my latest stool design. I had free reign to design an original stool for a brand new baby named Liana. I’ve always wanted to do a cute owl and I finally got to! I think I’ll name her Eleanor – don’t know why – I just like it. From what I hear Liana’s Mommy really likes Eleanor too.

Crocodile Crazy

Anyone who has a business that caters to children knows that the last to receive any kind of perks from your efforts are your  actual children. I’ve painted a few things for my kids but they were before I started my business. My daughter’s been asking for a Princess Crown Plaque forever! I keep saying ,”soon…soon” but I haven’t got around to it yet. The thing is -  I’m always painting for customers that when I do get a break that’s exactly what I want – a break.

I did this Crocodile for a little boy but when my son, Nate, saw it he loved it! He was carrying it all over the house. He even took it to his room and showed me where on the wall he would like to have it hung. I lamely tried to explain to my 2 year old that it was for another little boy and that I would make him one “after”. As I was listening to myself say this I realized that I could make another one. You tend to think in dollar signs when you have a business when really what my son was doing was the reason I paint. He was so delighted  – I couldn’t take that away from him in that moment.

So, now it’s Nate’s Crocodile and it seems right – like it was meant to be. It was a  sweet reminder that my children are my biggest fans. I better get to work on that plaque.
